
Valloire / Valmeinier are ski resorts with a difference. Both Valloire and Valmeinier next to each other are beautiful traditional French resorts with enchanting rustic beauty. Located at the crossroads of the Northern and Southern Alps, Valloire is a laid back and friendly resorts.
Valmeinier is also very similar to Valloire but has two villages at 1500m and 1800m, of which the best accomodation can be found in the satellite resort Valmeinier 1800. These may not be the choice of resorts for more the experienced and dare devil skiers but are a haven for families and people who are looking for a more relaxed ski break away from the rush. Both Valloire and Valmeinier are also known for the lively atmosphere with dozens of restaurants and bars to keep everyone happy.
Valloire along with its neighbouring ski resort Valmeinier gives you access to over 150 Kms of ski pistes in the Galibier-Thabor ski area. The resort altitudes range between 1430m to 1800m.
Valloire is recommended for beginners and intermediates as well snow boarders. Snow conditions are often excellent due to the terrain being north facing. Valloire also offers a snow park and the expert skiers are not left out either, there are some long reds and challenging blacks along with plenty of off piste skiing in the Gros Crey area on the other side of Valmeinier.
ESF Valloire is a good ski school catering for every ability and Halte Garderie crèche takes children from 6 months to 6 years.
