
Avoriaz is one of the 12 resorts which make up the Portes du Soleil ski area. Avoriaz is one of the most popular resorts in this region, with 650km of high altitude skiing right on the doorstep.
Avoriaz is situated at 1800m, close to the border of Switzerland and right in the middle of Portes du Soleil, and is renowned for its snow record throughout the ski season, and its endless amount of fantastic ski slopes. Avoriaz is a compact resort which is completely pedestrianised, and everyone gets around on either foot or picturesque horse drawn sleighs, which adds to the resorts winter charm. The resort is full of restaurants, cafes and bars which all offer a ski in/ski out service.
Avoriaz was made for skiers and boarders, and fans of freeride will enjoy the snowcross runs while anyone hoping for some big air will get plenty of it in the resort's many maintained parks.
