Les Coches is a purpose built ski resort with more of a traditional Alpine charm than its neighbours Plagne Bellecote or Plagne centre. It is set at an altitude of 1450m and serves as an ideal place for beginners and intermediates with nursery slopes and easy runs adjacent the village.
Set in a wooden terrain, Les Coches gives you easy access to the vast La Plagne area through the 4 lifts available. The accommodation is mostly ski apartments but some traditional chalets are also available. The only drawback seems to be the lack of many après ski facilities and there are only a few restaurants and bars; nevertheless Les Coches offers authentic charm.
Les Coches is a north facing region and with a number of snow making machines in the area, there is every possibility of skiing well into April. Beginners are well catered to with many nursery slopes and easy blue runs whereas intermediates particularly favour the run from "La Grand Rochette" to "Champagny". Expert skiers are not disappointed either with black runs on the Bellecote Glacier along with other challenging runs such as "Dos Rond" and "Leschaux". You can take advantage of the 4 lifts from Les Coches to access the rest of La Plagne.
Ecole du ski francais and ESF Des Coches offer excellent ski instructors and learning facilities. Children are well catered for in La Plagne with nurseries available in every village.
Aime la Plagne is one of the highest ski resorts (2000m) in La Plagne facing Mont Blanc.
Belle Plagne is one of the 10 ski villages under the La Plagne ski area.
La Plagne has a great range of slopes, from beginner to expert, and offers beautiful scenery.
Plagne Soleil, as the name suggests is the sunniest of the resorts in La Plagne.
