The Aquitaine region is one of the largest in France and stretches from above Arcachon down to the South-West of the country and towns such as Bayonne and St Jean de Luz.

A popular holiday destination with tourists, Aracachon is most well known for the 'Dune du Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe. Close by is the magnificent city of Bordeaux and the Médic wine region

Closer to the Spanish border is Biarritz, a surfers paradise and a lively town. Also worth a visit is St Jean de Luz, a pretty coastal town boasting a rich Basque heritage.
